The steps for applying for the residence permit
All the international students who are applying for visas or residence permits or the extension of residence permits will have to complete the on-lined pre-application procedures. Here are the details:
1. The applicants will have to apply to the Office for International Students’ Affairs at least 7 days in advance.
2. The steps are as follows:
●Complete the “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for Visitors” and a recent photo must be attached to it.
● Make copies of your passport such as the information page, the valid visa page
and the page of the latest entry into
● Submit the materials mentioned above to the Office for International Students’
Affairs to confirm your accommodation address (those who study on the East Campus，University Town，should have their receipts for accommodation).
●With your passport and the materials mentioned above, you should report to the local police station and complete the procedures for temporary residence for visitors.
●With the “Registration Certificate of Temporary Residence for Visitors” issued by the local police station, applicants should come to the Office for International Students’ Affairs for the on-lined pre-application for visas or residence permits. Meanwhile, applicants should complete the “Visa and Residence Permit Application Form” and get it stamped by the Office for International Students’ Affairs.
● With the passport and passport copies (information page, valid visa page and page
of the latest entry into China), Registration Certificate of Temporary Residence for Visitors, “Visa and Residence Permit Application Form”,digital photo networked with the Municipal Public Security Bureau and the Receipt of Digital Photos that have been Detected by the Detected by the Detection Platform, applicants should go to the Division of Aliens & Exit-Entry Administration of Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau for the visas or residence permits or the extension of residence permits.
● After obtaining visas or residence permits, with the passports, applicants should go to the local police station again for the confirmation of the validity for visas residence permits.
3. The locations for the local police stations that administer the campuses:
A. South Campusis under the jurisdiction of the Xingang Police Station, which is located behind the McDonald's,across the university south gate (main gate) of the South Campus. Tel: 020 - 84198060
B. East Campus （University Town） is under the jurisdiction of the Xiao Guwei Police Station, which is located on the 1st floor of the ChinaTelecommunicationBuilding, theUniversityTown.. At Zhonghuan Road (Middle Ring Road), applicants can take Bus No. 381A or Bus No. 381B and get of the bus at the Metro South Station. Then, walk about 300 meters in the direction of the South Business District. Applicants can also take the subway to the University Town South Station and get out of the station through Exit A.
